Sunday Service Held with Grace, Two Newcomers Attended

June 8 | 2018

Sunday service was held with grace received from the sermon and with the presence of two brother newcomers.

The Sunday sermon was delivered by Pastor Jefferson from the scripture Hebrews 11: 6-11 focusing on faith that was inherited by those who became the ancestors of faith. Faith like of Abraham that obeyed God’s command to leave his country, his people and his father’s household which later God blessed him as the origin of blessing. Without wavering he obeyed and followed God’s command. There are two things that sums up faith, first it to love God with all your heart, soul and mind and second is to believe in the cross and resurrection.

The Bible points out the sin of man, first forsaking God who is the like the spring of living water and second replacing God’s place with idols in one’s heart that will eventually be broken.“My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” Jeremiah 2:13

To follow God appears to be difficult in the beginning because giving up something we love or leaving what we love could be painful as carrying a cross however after the pain there is blessings and resurrection. Believing in this is faith. Therefore, finding the image of God within oneself and realizing God’s love truly will rid of the sinful mind after which there will be resurrection in our lives. The preacher exhorted the attendants to have faith in God’s love and in the cross and resurrection.

After the Sunday service all the attendants joined table fellowship joyfully sharing the meal prepared by P Susanna and some food contribution from members. Afterwards, brothers played Table Tennis as sports activity. Please pray for Montreal members to grow and become people of faith.
