Immanuel Church give thanks to God for His faithfulness to guide more and more souls to the Sunday service. Focusing on the true meaning of entering the kingdom of God, the preacher Pastor Jefferson, delivered sermon from the scripture John 3:1-15.
The sermon pointed out the conversation of Jesus with Nicodemus, a high ranking Jewish council who came to meet Jesus in regards to the kingdom of God. The conversation centered on how to attain the kingdom of God. Jesus revealed to Nicodemus that one can enter the kingdom of God only by being born again with water and the spirit. These two sources represents purifying our sins, which is an act of sacrifice carried out with the use of water symbolizing the law of God that cleanses and the spirit symbolizing fire and truth to burn our sins. Only when one is purified can one become an offering to God. As the Bible teaches us that our life should be a living sacrifice. Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
The preacher exhorted the attendants to be born again truly by the works of the Holy Spirit and not attempt to overcome sins with one’s own efforts. Although we are sinners, yet when we rely on God, He will allow us to be truly freed from our sins. The attendants were strengthened and blessed by the sermon.
After the Sunday service, joyful table fellowship was held with meals prepared by members. Followed by a cheerful and energetic games of Table tennis among members who attended the Sunday service. Montreal Church is delighted to see the growth of the Church and it’s new members. Please continue to pray for the faithful work of God to be revealed and for the members to increase and grow in faith.
